As I sit and reflect on the last year, or so, from creation of Sip & Give to our one-year anniversary, I am grateful for the opportunity to bring people together in the spirit of community and business. And, I hope you will all spread the word. It benefits us all.
At a time when many nonprofits are suffering a decrease in government funding and a lack in funding in general, you have all come together to network, learn and support. Each day I have the unique opportunity to introduce all of you to the truly special nonprofits in our community doing great work for our neighbors. In turn, not only did some of you give back really BIG, but many of you have become volunteers with these organizations.
As many of you know, Sip & Give is something that fills my heart. It is 100% volunteer for me and I rely on many people to help where they can. While I begin to plan for the New Year and take account of those who would like Sip & Give in their own community, I know that I will rely on volunteers to assist in the group’s growth here in Chicago, and beyond. Thanks to you all, and if you’d like to become more involved, please contact me.
Some incredible stories have come from Sip & Give and I’m looking forward to more connections and opportunities being built between individuals. Got a story to share? I want to hear from you!
In the meantime, in the spirit of giving this season, I hope that you will consider making your year-end donation to one of the groups we’ve worked with over the last year. You can find informational links on how to donate on our “Cool Links” page.
Don’t forget to join us Tuesday, January 25, 2011 for the next Sip & Give Networking Benefit, a diaper drive with Bundle of Joy Diaper Bank and our friend Jud of Bin Donated -details to come.
I wish you all the happiest of holidays and success in the year to come, and leave you with this thought:
“We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give.”
~Winston Churchill~
Be well,
